To be ignorant of another country is to be ignorant of your own. I don’t view travel as a way of “broadening your horizons”, but, rather, as a necessity. The world is big. And to act like it doesn’t exist beyond your own block is to slap life in the face. Travel doesn’t have to be expensive, time consuming, or intimidating. It is what you make of it. Learn another language. Get lost. Sleep in a park. The world is shrinking with every passing year. The Internet, war as television, terrorism, and the westernization of the globe are compressing the gulfs that exist between borders.

Cross them while you still can.
